Sail into the heart of the caldera and walk on one of the world’s most dramatic active volcanoes.

The Santorini caldera is one of the most extraordinary geological formations on Earth — a vast submerged crater formed by one of history’s most catastrophic volcanic eruptions, around 1600 BC. Rising from the centre of the caldera is Nea Kameni, an active volcanic island that last erupted in 1950 and continues to emit sulphurous gases and warm the surrounding sea.
Sailing through the caldera aboard our catamaran is a truly humbling experience. The sheer scale of the cliffs rising 300 metres on all sides, the perfect blue of the sheltered water, and the knowledge that you are floating inside a supervolcano make this one of the most memorable sailing experiences in the Mediterranean.
On our Full Day tour, guests can disembark on Nea Kameni and walk to the volcanic crater — a stark, otherworldly landscape of hardened lava, steam vents, and panoramic views across the caldera. It is an experience unlike anything else available in Santorini.
